The Story of High Praises Church
High Praises Church was founded in 1998 with a desire to create an atmosphere of worship where it doesn't matter what you look like, act like, smell like or talk like. A place of unity + free worship to transcend barriers: racial, denominational, or anything that would keep people apart. Pastor Jack quickly adopted the slogan that proclaims the fact that we are a church where the Main Thing, is to keep the Main Thing, the Main thing, + that is the Love of Jesus Christ. Although we are presently residing in the third location that we have occupied in the East Tennessee region, we look forward to spreading the unconditional love of Jesus with new physical campuses + through our online campus, as we teach people to dream big because we serve a big God!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that God is Love according to 1 John 4:16, + that we, as His children, should make it our goal to walk His love out in our everyday life. A personal relationship with Jesus is at the forefront of what is taught at High Praises Church. The death, burial + resurrection is the foundation + basis of why we believe that we can live by faith + be a victor, not a victim, to the circumstances around us. The Holy Spirit lives in us, guiding + directing our path, giving us confidence so that we can Dream Big because we serve a Big God.

Jack + Heather Midkiff
Lead PastorS
Pastor Jack started High Praises Church in 1998, alongside his incredible wife LaDonna. They have three children: Jackie Lee, Kinsey Cole, + Gracie. Pastor Jack & LaDonna shared 27 wonderful years together + accomplished many beautiful things in their life + marriage. LaDonna went to heaven on June 4, 2016, + is missed by anyone who ever knew her.
In this new season, our pastor shares his life with his beautiful wife Heather. She also brings three children into the family: Jayden, Landen, + Brooklen. Our lead pastors, Jack and Heather, look forward to many years of completing the vision of High Praises Church + loving the people that God puts in their life.
