More than anything else God wants us to spend time alone with Him building an intimate relationship with Him. We need to spend time with God everyday praising Him, talking to Him, and listening to find out what He wants to tell us.

God wants us to know how awesome He is! “But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered].” (Psalms 22:3) Praise brings God on the scene, and it makes Satan run. Satan will not stay in a place where Praise is going up to God. Praise gets God’s attention. Focusing on God and shutting out everything around you will bring you into the presence of God where He will give you power.

God wants us to talk to Him about everything. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 tells us to “Be unceasing in prayer (praying perseveringly).” We are to be in constant communication with God. When we talk to God about what is going on in our lives we will have peace, because we will know that He will take care of whatever we need from Him. “Do not fret or have ny anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and everything by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants

known to God. And God’s peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phillipians 4:6-7) God’s Word is His will – pray God’s Word. God isn’t moved by our emotions; He is moved by His Word and faith that He will do what He says He will do.

“Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do and know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).” (Jeremiah 33:3) If we don’t take time to stop and listen to God, we will never develop an intimate relationship with Him. If we are not listening to HIm, then He will not reveal to us what He desires to tell us, and we will not acquire all that He has for us.
